Squirrels Need Some R&R too!
Apparently they do, anyway!
The funniest thing ever happened the other day! Well, it is funny now! I have a ton of little squirrels that love to live in the big oak trees in and around my back yard! They jump, run, and climb all over the place!
SwampDawg and I were sitting outside the other evening when all of a sudden we heard a SPLASH come from the pool! Honestly, we didn’t think too much of it because as the squirrels are running through the trees they also throw twigs, leaves, and pine cones into the pool. But then I looked up because it was a big splash! It was a squirrel!!! And it was scared to death and swimming in the pool.
I’m not really sure if squirrels can swim, but I guess they can enough because he swum around in circles for a bit while I jumped and yelled at Swampdawg to “help him”, “get him out,” and of course, “omg, he’s gonna drown in my pool!”
Swampdawg was getting the net and coming to the rescue but just as he did the squirrel decided he was more scared of him than getting out of the pool because he jumped out of the pool almost on top of SwampDawg’s head and looking very much like a drowned rat, scurried up the tree!
As I said, at the time I was in a panic – but about two minutes later I was laughing so hard I was crying! As I said, even squirrels want a little pool time!
